National Bank of Kuwait Launches Enhanced Mobile Banking App with Investment Features

National Bank of Kuwait has launched significant updates to its mobile banking app, introducing an integrated investment dashboard for NBK Invest products, international mortgage application capabilities, and instant mobile-to-mobile transfers.

The investment dashboard provides customers with a unified view of their NBK Invest holdings, including portfolio performance, asset allocation, and transaction history, directly within the banking app. The integration eliminates the need for separate investment platforms, bringing wealth management into the everyday banking experience.

The international mortgage application feature enables NBK customers to apply for property financing in international markets through the mobile app, targeting the bank's affluent customer base that invests in overseas real estate. The digital application process streamlines what has traditionally been a paper-intensive, multi-week procedure.

Instant mobile-to-mobile transfers complement NBK's earlier integration of Kuwait's WAMD instant payment system, adding another method for customers to send money quickly to contacts. The feature uses mobile phone numbers as payment identifiers for a streamlined transfer experience.

The app updates build on NBK's significant digital achievements in 2024, when the bank reported that 97.9% of transactions occurred through digital channels and it deployed Microsoft Copilot across all divisions. The continued investment in mobile app capabilities reflects NBK's strategy of positioning the app as the primary interface for all banking services.

NBK said additional features will be rolled out in subsequent app updates.
